What it is
Most blood-test research for dementia comes from high-income countries, and a test is only as good as the people it was checked on. In 605 people from the ReDLat network in six Latin American countries, four blood markers helped tell apart Alzheimer’s and frontotemporal dementia, a type that often changes behavior first. Adding brain scans and memory tests raised accuracy further.
Where it stands
