What it is
Every brain holds a natural trace of lithium. A 2025 Harvard study found less of it in brains with Alzheimer’s, starting before dementia, and in mice a low dose of lithium orotate restored memory.
Where it stands
- Lab discovery
- Animal studies
- First studies in people
- Large trials
- Approved
Mouse results, with a first small safety trial in people registered (NCT07459959). Not a reason to take a supplement.
