What it is
Super agers are people 80 or older whose memory matches someone decades younger. A 2026 Vanderbilt-led study found they were 68 percent less likely than people with Alzheimer’s to carry APOE4, the best-known risk gene, and more likely to carry the protective APOE2.
Where it stands
A genetic association that helps explain resilience, not a test or a treatment.
